Circular Economy + The Farm Mechanic = Sustainable Luxury Furniture

by The Farm Mechanic

Circular economy is an economic system that aims to minimize waste and maximize the use of resources. It is based on the principles of designing out waste and pollution, keeping products and materials in use for as long as possible and regenerating natural systems. This approach helps to reduce environmental impact, conserve resources and create economic opportunities.

The Farm Mechanic combines luxury with sustainability. Most people likely don’t think of sustainable products when thinking of luxury. By embodying the principles of circular economy, we achieve sustainable luxury furniture. By using sustainably sourced materials and by ensuring the quality is built to last generations, we strive to reduce waste and promote a culture of sustainability. A significant factor in our design eliminates the need for hardware or tools and allows for simple assembly.

Our luxury furniture and outdoor structures are flatpack. Flatpack is an integral part of our design process. It’s also another concept that isn’t usually synonymous with luxury, but by using innovative technologies, optimizing production processes to reduce material waste and implementing efficient logistics systems to minimize transportation emissions we’re able to join the two concepts seamlessly. In addition, optimizing packaging and lowering shipping container volumes decreases our carbon footprint.
